East Mesa Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Thumbnail

East Mesa Christian Church is a community of people who are journeying through life hand in hand with the risen Christ.  Our goal is to make Christ relevant to the living of daily life.

In our congregational life, we seek to be a people led by the Holy Spirit to places of mission and service in the world.  During the fall months, we centered our mission on collecting food which was assembled into holiday gift baskets and given to a shelter for abused women and children.  Last summer, we completed a project of supplying water for the homeless during the hot summer months.  EMCC is constantly involved in the community is many different ways.  We don’t just talk about our Christian Faith, we show it!

      Worship lies at the heart of our congregational life.  Here is what’s happening at EMCC this coming Sunday:

      We live in a society that does not recognize the importance of feeling sorrow for our actions that hurt people and are unfaithful to God.  Is there any place for Godly sorrow in our faith? What is the difference between Godly sorrow and worldly sorrow?  Paul’s letter to the Corinthians will help us discover a sorrow that does not destroy the joy of living, but enhances it.  Pastor Decker’s message on II Corinthians 7:8-11 is entitled “Godly Sorrow, Worldly Sorrow”.
